Chocolate Shortbread

Ingredients:

1 cup soft margarine
1 1/2 cups flour
3/4 cup icing sugar
few grains salt
1/3 cup cocoa

Directions:

Cream margarine until soft and fluffy. Sift in flour, icing sugar, salt and cocoa. Mix until well blended into soft dough.
If very soft, chill 1/2 hr. in fridge.

Shape into balls,spacing 2 " apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten with fork.

I decorate them with a piece of green and red glazed cherries and a slivered almond.

Bake at 300 degrees for 20-25 minutes. My oven is hot so I bake for 18-20 minutes. Cool slightly and remove from pan.
Makes 3-4 dozen.
